Using
CuteFTP to upload your wesbite
Once you have created a connection
in CuteFTP, you can connect to your Host4Yourself Account
at any time to upload and edit your website. With CuteFTP,
you can upload your site easily and quickly following
a few easy steps:

This is what you
will see the first time you connect to your Host4Yourself
Account. The frame on the left displays the files on
your computer, and the frame on the right displays your
files on our server. This is the file that automatically
loads in a user's browser when they type http://www.yourdomain.com
into their browser. The first time you connect, this
file will contain our "Site Coming Soon" page.
To replace this with your website, you must first delete
the index.htm file off of the server. To do this, simply
highlight the index.htm file in the right frame and
hit the delete key on your keyboard. It will ask you
to confirm your decision to delete this file, simply
click yes and you are ready to upload your website.

To replace the
"Site Coming Soon" page with your website,
simply find your website's files on your computer in
the frame on the left and highlight all the files associated
with your website. For the purpose of this example,
these files will be a new index.html(which should be
the main page for your website -- what you want the
user to see first when they type http://www.yourdomain.com),
section1.html and section2.html. Once you highlight
all the files associated with your website, simply move
your mouse over them, and click-and-drag them into the
right frame. If this is done correctly, CuteFTP will
ask you if you want to upload the selected files to
the FTP Server. Simply click OK and your website will
begin uploading.

Once all
of your website's files are uploaded, you should see
them in the right frame. As soon as these files are
uploaded, your website will be instantly viewable anywhere
on the internet. You should now go to your website by
typing http://www.yourdomain.com into your browser.
If you see the "Site Coming Soon" page instead
of your website, try deleting your internet cache(usually
under the options for your browser) and refreshing the
page. If it still appears to be the "Site Coming
Soon" page, try going through the process of uploading
your website again. Make sure that you aren't receiving
any errors from CuteFTP, and if you're still having
problems uploading your website, please feel free to
ask
us.
